In October of 2002, a group of students and staff of the Auraria Campus
met to plan an action in response to the impending war on Iraq. Some were
representitives of student groups, some were individuals willing to do whatever
it took to spread the word. In just two short meetings, a campus walk-out,
held the day before elections, was planned.
From those inital meetings, Anti-War Auraria was born. Today, AWA meets
regularly as a coalition. We work on promoting education, and action concerning
the anti-war movement on campus as well as organze with groups in the
community. The meetings are open to any campus affiliate that is interested.
